Lap lanes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and swimmers are asked to limit their time to 30 minutes, if others are waiting. Each lap lane can accommodate more than one swimmer and up to 6 swimmers.
-
- When two swimmers are sharing a lane, they should utilize lane splitting, where each swimmer picks a side,
- When there are three or more swimmers, circular swimming should be utilized. Swimmers can decide between themselves if they want to circular swim clockwise or counterclockwise.
- Slower swimmers should be mindful of faster swimmers and yield when necessary.
- Lap lane will be established and maintained as described under the lap lane swimming hours tab. Lane one will be maintained as a priority lane for adult lap swimming (i.e., over the age of 16). Lap lanes are restricted to lap swimmers.
- If there are swimmers waiting to use the lanes, then swimmers shall be restricted to no more than 30 minutes in a lane. Swimmers may use the lap lane for no more than 45 minutes within any two-hour period.
- Swim Team has priority use of the lanes during their practice or meet times. A lane may be closed at the discretion of the lifeguards to conduct swim tests.
- Swim instructors holding private lessons may not use the lap lane if a lap swimmer is waiting but may use it if available.
- If a swimmer has a question about lane closures they should direct any question to the Pool Manager.
