Poplar Heights Recreation Association is a private, not for profit, member-owned club. We limit equity membership to 335 and no more than 165 renters to ensure our club is a relaxed, fun and safe place.
Poplar Heights has three membership offerings: Shareholder, Renter, and Late Season Renter.
Shareholders are co-owners of the club and have voting rights. They have access to the pool facilities in the summer and year-round access to the tennis courts. There is about a 7 year wait to become a Shareholder.
Renters have use of the club but have no voting rights. They have access to the pool facilities in the summer and year-round access to the tennis courts. There is a 4-5 year wait for Renters.
Late Season Renters are offered for August until the pool closes in September. They have use of the pool facilities and tennis courts during the August/September timeframe only. Late Season Renters are chosen from the top of the waiting list for those not already offered a Full Season Rental. There is not a separate wait list for Late Season Renters. It is about a 2-3 year wait to be offer a Last Season Rental.
We only maintain one wait list. In order of priority as space becomes available, you are offered a Late Season Rental, a Full Season Rental, and then a Membership. You do not need to be a renter prior to becoming a Member. When offered a Membership, you will be able to turn it down twice — thereafter we go to the next person on the list. You may remain a Renter and not become a Member if desired.
